The Friends of Crossroads Village Carousel was established in 1984 as a volunteer group to support the carousel. In the early years, the group raised money to support the original restoration work of the carousel. Many members also were physically involved in the stripping of the horses for this restoration.

Today,  the Friends group raises money to help with the upkeep of all of the vintage rides at Crossroads Village.

The Friends of Crossroads Village Carousel is a 501(c)(3) Michigan nonprofit organization. It has established an endowment fund with the Community Foundation of Greater Flint to support its goals into the future.
